Hi everyone,
I’m writing to share an important update regarding Canberra Ballroom Socials. (formerly Crystal Ballroom) as at 20th January 2026
Due to circumstances beyond our control, including family commitments and ongoing challenges that need our attention, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel our monthly socials for the foreseeable future.
This is not a decision that has been taken lightly. Canberra Ballroom Socials (and the community around it) means a great deal to me, and I know how much these nights have meant to so many of you as well.
While we recently announced an exciting 2026 and the change to Canberra Ballroom Socials, we’ve reached a point where we need to step back and reassess to ensure we can return in a way that’s sustainable and delivers the standard of event you’ve come to expect.
My intention is to recommence the socials when the time is right and we’re able to deliver the experience this community deserves. I’ll keep everyone updated via our socials and website as soon as I have a clearer timeline.
To everyone who has supported us over the last four years thank you. Thank you for showing up, for welcoming new dancers, for being part of the atmosphere on the floor, and for helping create a space where everyone has felt welcome, regardless of studio affiliation or experience level. Your support has genuinely made this community what it is.

A guest party is chance to introduce someone new to try some of our popular dances
We will have a little drink, have a dance lesson, and then all attendees have a chance to enrol on Term 1 classes with special deals! We have a little social dancing at the end too. Help us get 2026 off to a great start with more beginners! 😊
The Guest Party is Free!!All you need is to bring at least one guest.
What is a guest? Someone who has never had a lesson at Danzon. Maybe a relative, a friend, a work colleague…
Please RSVP for the guest party to help us plan ahead.
